Burger Boat Company Sycara IV

Burger Boat Company, the most respected builder of custom yachts in the United States has launched the Sycara IV, a beautiful 151 feet (46 meters) long aluminium vessel in style of the early 1920's. The company renowned for quality construction, splendid design and perfect reliability since 1863 once again proved its commitment to building top yachts which meet the requirements and desires of the most demanding customers. The luxury yacht inspired by 1920's Fantail Cruiser was designed and built by the top designers, craftspeople and engineers who have created a perfect family boat to experience the coast of America and its mighty rivers. Beautiful design resembling the traditional early 1920's luxury ships is work of Bruce King and Ken Freivokh. They collaborated closely with the yacht's owners Mr. and Mrs. Catena whose knowledge and experiences in yachting and ship building played a major role in recapturing the charm from the time when people truly knew to enjoy the actual pleasure of yachting. The unique and timelessly elegant design conceived by designers Ken Freivokh and Bruce King with the Burger team of designers and the yacht's owners was fulfilled by the Burger craftspeople and engineers who also took into account the owners' concerns about the environment and low fuel consumption requirements. Thus the floating beauty burns only 27 gallons per hour at cruising speed of 12 1/2 knots. The Sycara IV reaches maximum speed of 15 knots. The 151 feet long and 26,6 feet (8,11 meters) wide boat can accommodate eight passengers and six full time crew. Sycara IV is powered by two Caterpillar C-18 engines and driven by twin screw propellers. Her total HP is 1,200 and has 894 total Kilowatts. She has fuel capacity of 3,199 gallons (12,110 litres) and water capacity of 1,200 gallons (4,541 litres). Draught maximum is 6 feet (1,83 meter) which makes her relatively shallow. Sycara IV was officially launched in Manitowoc Wi in 2009 before being delivered to her owners and was presented to the world at the 2009 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. She won the Best Design Trophy for Custom Built Yachts under 50 meters at the 2009 World Yachts Trophies that was organized by LuxMedia Group in collaboration with the Cannes International Yacht and Boat Show, and has been also named World Superyacht Awards 2010 finalist for Best Displacement Motor Yacht Below 500 gt.
